Efficacy and Safety of Axiostat® Hemostatic Dressing in Aiding Manual Compression Closure of the Femoral Arterial Access Site in Patients Undergoing Endovascular Treatments: A Preliminary Clinical Experience in Two Centers. Journal of Personalized Medicine, 13(5), p.812.

Key Findings

  1. Effectiveness and safety of Axiostat® for femoral arterial access closure in endovascular procedures.
  2. Comparison of Axiostat® outcomes in endovascular procedure using various sheath sizes.

Core Results

Rate of Successful Hemostasis – 91.7% Clinical success (no bleeding-related vascular access site complication) – 94.2%     Mean time-to-achieving hemostasis – 8.9 ± 3.9 minutes. Time-to-ambulation – 462 ± 199 minutes. (around 7 and half hours) No event of thrombosis, neuropathy, AV fistula formation. No event of re bleeding complication and infection at the bleeding wound site.

Key Insights & Discussion

  • Axiostat® is effective and safe for achieving hemostasis at the femoral arterial access site during endovascular procedures regardless of sheath sizes.
  • Axiostat® assist in rapid hemostasis and early ambulation in all patient groups.
