- Faster haemostasis: Axiostat® achieved haemostasis in a mean of 5.84 minutes compared with 120.2 minutes with the manual compression device.
- Lower radial artery occlusion (RAO): No RAO events were observed in the Axiostat group, compared with 3.12% in the Terumo TR Band group.
- Low rebleeding and Haematoma incidence: Axiostat® group showed decreased haematoma and rebleeding incidence, compared with the Terumo TR Band group, along with its low compression time.
- Good patient tolerability: Post-application pain scores were low and comparable between groups.
- Favourable safety profile: No serious adverse events, allergic reactions, or device-related complications were reported in either group.
Conclusion:
Axiostat® appear to provide an effective and safe alternative to conventional manual compression approaches, enabling rapid haemostasis, shorter compression duration, absence of observed radial artery occlusion, lower patient-reported discomfort, and minimal postprocedural complications following transradial coronary interventions.
